Investors should carefully consider a Money Market Fund's investment objectives, risks, costs and expenses before investing. Please contact your financial professional or visit dreyfus.com for a prospectus or summary prospectus where available containing this and other information about the fund. Read the prospectus carefully before investing.

Preferred and Tax-Exempt Institutional Money Market Funds:You can lose money by investing in a money market fund. Because the price of fund shares fluctuates, when you sell your shares, they may be worth more or less than you originally paid for them. The Fund may charge a fee for the sale of its Shares or temporarily suspend its ability to sell Shares if, due to market conditions or other factors, the Fund's liquidity falls below required minimum levels. An investment in the Fund is not insured or guaranteed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or any other governmental agency. The Sponsor of the Fund is under no legal obligation to provide any financial support to the Fund and you should not expect the Sponsor to provide any financial support to the Fund at any time.

The Fund's holdings in corporate bonds and short-term asset-backed securities involve credit and liquidity risks and the risk of loss of capital.

ESG Valuation Risk. Where appropriate and applicable, Dreyfus CIS incorporates environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into its basic credit assessment process. Dreyfus CIS may not consider ESG ratings or other ESG data or analysis in connection with every investment decision and may determine that other attributes of an investment outweigh ESG considerations when making an investment decision. ESG factors may not be critical to a particular credit analysis or investment decision. As a result, a Fund may invest in securities of a company/issuer with a negative ESG profile and a Fund may disinvest or not invest in a company/issuer with a positive ESG profile. As ESG data often lacks standardisation, consistency and transparency, such data, including ESG ratings for specific issuers/companies, may not be available, complete or accurate.

Recent market risks include pandemic risks related to COVID-19. The impact of COVID-19 has contributed to increased volatility in global markets and is likely to affect certain countries, companies, industries and market sectors more dramatically than others. To the extent that the Fund may be overweight its investments in any particular country, company, industry or market sector, such positions increase the risk of loss from adverse developments affecting that country, company, industry or sector.

As a measure of current income, the 7-day yield better reflects the fund's ability to generate current income. The 7-day return is an annualized return based on the last 7-day period. The 30-day ESA return, which is net income including any fee waivers or rebates, is based on the dividend per share of net investment income for the last 30 days divided by the final maximum issue price per share for the period and is annualized. The 7-day performance waiver may reflect BNY Mellon Investment Adviser, Inc.'s waiver of a portion of the fund's management fee and/or reimbursement of fund expenses, which would result in a reduction in the fund's expense ratio and the generation of higher returns

WAM - A measure of the average effective maturity of all underlying money market instruments in the fund, weighted to reflect the relative percentage ownership of each instrument. WAM calculations make it possible to shorten the maturities of some securities by periodically adjusting interest rates. In general, for money market funds, the WAM can be used primarily as a measure of sensitivity to changes in interest rates.

WAL – A measure of the average final maturity of all underlying money market instruments in the fund, weighted to reflect each instrument's relative ownership percentage. Unlike WAM, WAL calculations do not account for shortened maturities for periodic interest rate adjustments. Consequently, WAL is generally larger than WAM.

The daily dividend factor is a decimal representation of the yield earned in a day.

The cumulative dividend factor is the decimal representation of the daily factors that are added when a monthly dividend is paid early.
