ESG Valuation Risk. Where appropriate and applicable, Dreyfus CIS incorporates environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into its basic credit assessment process. Dreyfus CIS may not consider ESG ratings or other ESG data or analysis in connection with all investment decisions and may determine that other attributes of an investment outweigh ESG considerations when making an investment decision. ESG factors may not be critical in the context of a particular credit analysis or investment decision. Therefore, a Fund may invest in securities of a company/issuer with a negative ESG profile and a Fund may dispose of or not invest in a company/issuer with a positive ESG profile. As ESG data often lacks standardisation, consistency and transparency, such data, including ESG ratings for specific issuers/companies, may not be available, complete or accurate.

In general, for money market funds, the WAM can be used primarily as a measure of sensitivity to changes in interest rates.

Unlike WAM, WAL calculations do not allow shortening of periods for periodic interest rate adjustments. Consequently, WAL is generally larger than WAM.
